The Process

Discussing the Details:

Our journey begins with in-depth discussions where we delve into the essence of your project. We thoroughly explore the scene, mood, and specifics of the characters and plotlines involved. Understanding your vision and requirements, is the groundwork for a truly personalized and captivating piece.

Sketch and Contract:

Drawing inspiration from our discussions, I bring your ideas to life in a rough thumbnail sketch. If the cover is to be photo-manipulated/involves usage of stock pictures, we will discuss what pictures are to be used at this stage. We’ll create a contract with pricing and rights after the thumbnail sketch and assets are approved.

Work-in-Progress (WIP) Updates:

I keep you actively involved in the cover design or character illustration process through regular updates as we go along! I periodically share the artwork’s progress, so you can offer feedback and request modifications. Our collaborative approach ensures that all adjustments are implemented smoothly to create an artwork that aligns perfectly with your vision.

Final Artwork and Payment:

Once I meticulously perfect every detail to achieve your satisfaction, we are ready to go! Final high-quality files are shared with you only upon complete receipt of the payment.

Rights:

Upon final payment, the artwork’s copyright is transferred to you, granting full rights for use, modification, display, sale, and creating derivative works. While I retain the right to showcase the artwork in my portfolio and promote my business, I do not claim ownership or royalties from book sales or derivative works.

Confidentiality and Credits:

I treat all information about your book’s content as confidential until it’s published online or revealed by you. As the artist, I will be credited on the back cover or inside the book, and you cannot claim the artwork as your creation.

Cancellation/Refunds/Redo:

As I keep you updated throughout the process and value your input. Refunds are not offered due to the collaborative nature of the work. If the job is canceled or postponed mid-way, a cancellation fee of 50% of the final fee is due based on the work completed. If the art is completed and then the job is canceled, the full fee is due, and all rights to the art revert to me.
